Dear Friends,
There are many reasons why I choose to support these particular foundations. All of them have a very personal connection that I feel are worthy of your attention. Please join me in supporting them with either a donation (by going to their websites) or by attending one of the benefit shows / fundraisers.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas,
no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation

The hope, dream and goal of the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation is to have a treasure chest in all pediatric oncology facilities in the nation. With your help and support, this dream will become reality.

The Treasure Chest program allows cancer patients (ranging in age from birth through 18 years) at 45 children's cancer treatment centers to choose an age appropriate toy as a reward for having the courage to undergo painful but necessary procedures. Smaller toys are stored in a Treasure Chest and designated for children undergoing simple procedures like blood tests. Larger, more expensive gifts are stored in a cabinet and designated for those children experiencing extensive, painful procedures such as spinal taps and bone marrow aspirations. Currently, the Treasure Chest program comforts over 8600 children and teens each month.

What is known today as Found Chicago originated simply as the kindhearted acts of the people behind Stay, A Modern Dog Hotel.  These are the people who gave refuge to homeless dogs.  They nurtured them, gave them life skills and re-homed them for no other reason than it was the right thing to do.  It was their compassionate hearts that breathed life into a tiny idea called Found.  In December of 2009, Found Chicago came to fruition when five kennels at Stay, A Modern Dog Hotel were designated specifically for homeless dogs.  Five kennels, however, quickly became “not enough” and the idea of expanding Found into it’s own space was born.  By March 2011, the present brick and mortar building that houses Found Chicago today was complete.  Doors were opened and the five kennel spaces quadrupled to twenty.  Today, Found Chicago is comprised of 49 kennels, 3 training/playrooms and it’s own trainers and staff designated specifically for the needs of homeless and challenged dogs.

PAWS is people helping animals. We are the kind of people who delight in the company of an animal friend, who are awed by a majestic eagle in flight. Like you, we understand that animals enrich our lives. We also know they cannot speak for themselves and need protection. That is why PAWS brings together people like you to ensure animals are respected, safe and have a voice.

PAWS' Mission: PAWS is a champion for animals—rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating people to make a better world for animals and people.

  Autism Speaks

At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals. Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.
Autism Speaks. It's time to listen.
